Free phpBB Hosting From A Pro!
June 26, 2008
When we think of free hosting, we think of a company that installs a load of modifications and styles, then burdens the forums with adverts, aka Freeforums.org . With this experience and more, i have steered clear of free hosting, until i stumbled across an old face.
When i first started using phpBB forums, i used a service with a company called eAmped, which was fantastic. It has mods, styles and no ads, and even when adverts were needed, the admin implemented them perfectly so they blended with styles and were not distracting. Again, unlike Freeforums.org . So, when this mystery admin sold the business, eAmped went downhill as another money making wannabe took over. So, i lost my faith.
Then, in early 2008, i stumbled across ProphpBB while looking for a new host, and i havn’t looked back. My old mystery admin had been found, mdvaldosta. Surprisingly, i hadn’t remembered this rather unique nickname of webmaster Joe Hayes and so i was thrilled at having found him and his service again. And, i wasn’t wrong to join. ProphpBB is now oone of the leading free phpBB3 Hosting specialists and offers the following all for a colossal fee of £0.00 (or $0.00 for you Americans).
~ Free phpBB3 Hosting
~ No Advertisements Of Any Sorts
~ Over 50 Preinstalled Styles
~ Many Modifications, Including Some Custom ones
~ Fantastic Forum Support, With A Global Support Team
~ Regular Updates
~ And countless other services, some of which are unexpected from a forum host, such as a support wiki and competitions to win domain names.
Now, if i still havn’t convinced you to check out http://prophpbb.com, then just read our top 5 reasons as to why you shuold visit, join and become a phpBB Administrator.
1. It’s Free, Fast and Friendly.
The service, all of it, is free. Never will there be a cost to host your forum. And, the signup process takes less than 5 minutes, unless you are a total n00b
And, with many friendly support staff and regulars, you are never far from quick and simple support, unlike the large documentation some companies expect you to read and review each time you encounter a problem.
2. Custom Mods
Yep, custom mods such as the vBulletin style last post on index, created by Mr Mdvaldosta himself.
3. Competitions
Oh yes, this is a real enticer. ProphpBB had a competition where you had to promote there service, and each link got a ticket, so a raffle would determine who won a free domain name for life. Over 50 links later, and mdvaldosta, out of the kindness of his heart, gave ALL competitors a free domain, and i was one of them.
4. Lots Of Support
ProphpBB doesn’t rely on a single man. Yeah, md is the only admin, but he has a fantastically knowledgable team in Nexus, Panhandle and Brandon to help co-ordinate when he is busy or having a wel earned rest.
5. It’s Fun
This is the main reasons why people setup forums. It’s fun. It’s fun to be part of a community, and also to be the boss and have some responsibiity. And, it’s like a little business, delegating roles to your friends and trying to get yourself clients who will return.
So click HERE now or else i will be sorely upset.
